Some fifty years ago two entrepreneurial brothers from the village of Mgarr Malta, Nazzareno and Vincenzo Vella decided to start manufacturing tiles and bought a small tile making machine press.

Hal Mann today has evolved from a purely local manufacturing concern to a multi-layered product and service-oriented company, which can offer these services around the globe. Today Hal Mann produces 'the' tile but is in a position to offer all the services related to those tiles.

Over the past few years a re-organisation of the group structure has taken place. Hal Mann International Ltd is the export company within group, a group which is still owned by the Vella family.
Vincenzo, one of the founders, is still active within this organisation but true to say that these days his children and even grand-children are fully involved in the day-to-day administration of the company.
The best way of describing Hal Mann is to say that we are specialists in Natural Stone, HMI being the manufacturing concern within the group. Other companies within the group develop property, act as project managers, as finishing sub-contractors, as suppliers, as retailers and as agents and distributors for ancillary products necessary for us to be able to offer a complete solution.
If that natural-stone 'look' is required, HMI are one of only a few companies capable of providing a complete solution. We are one of the largest terrazzo tile manufacturers in the world but also produce terrazzo in block and pre-cast form; we also manufacture a range of resin based marbles. We also process natural stone from the raw material to finished items having our own crushing plant, gang-saws, marble and granite processing line, CNC machines, water-jet cutting facilities etc. Hal Mann stocks more than 100 natural stones from around the world.
